Autumn Must-Haves 2016, Objects by Fritz Hansen

Founded in 1999, this store was one of the first to bring Scandinavian design to London: they've been filling smart living rooms with sharp Nordic-cool for nearly two decades. As well as hosting the best scandi design, both traditional and contemporary, they store produces its own line of furniture, too. We love the new collection, with its unique emphasis on classic pieces which add a little hygge to your home.

Famous for chairs, Fritz Hansen work closely with Skandium, and we loved their Summer 2016 accessories collection, 'Objects', downsizing from their famous drop chair to a spot of home decoration. Chic, sleek and modern; these are the words that come to mind when we think of the collection, which holds purity and simplicity close to heart, with an emphasis on soft femininity.

The new additions to the collection this Autumn are the designs of Cecilie Manz and aiayu. Design is the buzzword here, where quality is key and backstory is imperative to the look and feel of the pieces.

Cecilie Manz has designed yet another beautiful collection for Objects, focussing on Japanese Stoneware and Organic Poufs. Intricate craftsmanship has gone into the production of her slip cast earthenware vases and bowls, and it's the history of the 2000 year old pottery town where they were made which provides the narrative and golden glow to the clay. Her poufs echo the shape of stepping-stones and are both functional and decorative. There's no better way to add a little calm to your chambre than a cosy candle.


aiayu (which appropropriately means soul in Bolivian) has collected a series of cushions designed for 'For Objects: Soft and Sensuous' which are made from only the finest baby llama wool from the Bolivian Highlands. It is integrity of origin which the collaboration with Fritz Hansen was here intended to promote.



Fritz Hansen has always been devoted to craftsmanship, quality and classically timeless design, and their new range of for-the-home products are both visually and aesthetically enriching, calming to the senses, and have been designed with soul-soothing serenity in mind. We can't wait to snuggle down with a cushion, a candle and a cup of tea this winter with these essential design pieces. This is, after all, what 'The Feeling of Coming Home' is all about.
