Leading British designer Tom Dixon spices up London's Old Selfridges Hotel this autumn with a multi-sensory department store that will delight visitors.
Who is Tom Dixon?
Tom Dixon is one of the hottest design talents, with high-profile projects like Jamie Oliver's trendy London restaurant Barbecoa and the elite members club Shoreditch House under his belt. He's also remarkably self-taught and greatly influenced by British heritage in his unique designs.
Old Selfridges Hotel, Orchard Street
In the frenzy of London Fashion Week, Design Festival and Frieze, Dixon unites design, technology, fashion and film to experiment with the future of shopping. And it is quite an experience. Visitors can head inside the iconic Selfridges department store and discover a huge range of installations, pop-ups and events to play with, from intravenous vitamin injections from Reviv, seaweed perfume from the shores of Margate by Haeckles and white-charcoal shampoos by Danish brand Sort of Coal. Tom Dixon is the driving force of the ambitious project, but you'll also find leading brands like Mumbai fashion boutique Obataimu, New Zealand design house Resident and others have also thrown their hats into the ring.
