Swedish Summer, Heal's
Embrace the Scandinavian trend with Heal's Swedish Summer festival of sleek design and radical workshops
Scandinavian design is the word on everyone's lips right now and Heal's have embraced the trend with another Swedish exhibition of renowned designers making waves in the design world.
If you follow the Heal's events, you'll know that the first time the sumptuous Tottenham Court Road headquarters had a similar show was in 1971 - so they really know what they are doing. Look out for some of our favourite Swedish companies exhibited in the pop-up market, from furniture, textiles and crockery to themed Swedish summer workshops. High on our list are home accessories brands Design House Stockholm, Nonuform and Orrefors Kostaboda.
Top tips
Our favourite workshops are the Flower headband making with Gabriella & Octavia for both children (8th August) and adults (15th August). And we can't miss Eva Höög's tutorial on Swedish embroidery on 4th and 11th August. Each workshop session includes a delicious cinnamon bun and coffee, and we recommend booking early through the Heal's website. There's even a snazzy new Volvo in the entrance if the stellar design doesn't catch your attention.
So if you're looking for that perfect smorgasbord, seek inspiration from the Scandinavian carnival at Heal's this summer where the Swedish love for sustainable design and innovative craft shine.
