Hermès 'home universe', New Bond Street
The French fashion empire Hermès has given its London flagship a drastic makeover with a fresh lick of paint and gorgeous new architectural features that elevate the New Bond Street shop to hot design ticket. Fashionistas will want to peruse those famous Hermès silk scarves and luxurious clothing, while design lovers will be enthralled by the new 'home universe' section.
The most drastic change you'll find is the luminous space of the enormous store, which has doubled in size to house a new enchanting first floor filled with homewares, leather-goods, women's fashion, shoes, fragrance and even an equestrian corner. Head to the ground floor by way of the new copper-clad lift for the menswear section and those iconic Hermès scarves.

The real highlight that design connoisseurs will enjoy is the Hermès 'home universe', where mid-century design classics can be found. We are particularly in love with the sumptuous Oval marble table by Enzo Mari, the bold Hermès orange shelves and Japanese architect Shigeru Ban's Module H leather wall panels. The dynamic 1960s interior has been masterminded by Hugh Casson and Misha Black and is sure to turn heads with its double height ceiling, emerald green tiles and caramel-toned hardwood. Take a peak out through the French windows and you'll spot an elegant Henry Moore statue outside, and even a Ben Nicholson in the lobby.

RDAI and Denis Montel are the brains behind the renovation at New Bond Street, featuring show stopper moments in the new oval ceiling aperture, striking Venetian staircase and illuminated Saint-Louis crystals in nearby display cases and furnishings.
