Modern Shows set up camp in east London this May at Erno Goldfinger's daring Grade II listed Haggerston School. The Hungarian architect and designer is best known for his bold use of concrete and reinvention of architectural design by Auguste Perret and Le Corbusier, and yes - he was the inspiration for the Bond villain!
Midcentury East | what to expect
Bond becomes a bit of a theme at this design event as supplier for the Bond films Saxon, from postwar furniture and lighting designer Metro Retro, will be on hand. You'll also be tempted to buy ceramics, wallpaper, vintage fabrics and furniture in this hugely varied design event. Sumptuous designs by Danish superstar designer Arne Jacobsen, American design couple Charles and Ray Eames, Italian furniture designer Harry Bertoia and trailblazing Danish creative Hans Wegner are some of the names to be found in Haggerston this spring.
