The biggest female names in urban and landscape design make their mark at Roca London Gallery’s new architecture exhibition

Creativity, sustainability and feminism meet in a topical new exhibition at the Roca London Gallery. Urbanistas: women innovators in architecture, urban and landscape design showcases five of the most prominent women working in their fields today and how they have changed modern city living. You’ll find ingenuious urban living at this design exhibition from Alison Brooks, founder of Alison Brookes Architects, Liza Fior & Katherine Clarke, co-founders of Muf Architecture/Art, Irena Bauman of Bauman Lyons Architects, Alessandra Cianchetta, co-founder of AWP and Johanna Gibbons, co-founder of J&L Gibbons.
Highlights are wide-ranging at this design exhibition, London, including a re-imagining of unused space for public use at La Defense, Paris by Alessandra Cianchetta and studies on community spirit around east London by Liza Fior and Katherine Clarke.
Roca London Gallery (Zaha Hadid Architects designed) is famed for its focus on sustainability. Gallery manager Eva Woode explains how the Roca London Gallery concept inspired the exhibition: “we wanted to highlight the contribution that women are making to urban design, through sustainable and livable examples… cities should be developed by city users – and that emphatically means both genders.”
