Snowdrop Days, Chelsea Physic Garden
A visit to the Chelsea Physic Garden is one of our favourite things to do in London this spring
As winter draws in and the frosty weather keeps us trapped inside, we can’t help but look for events in London 2015 which make way for spring. So if the rapidly growing darkness of the capital is bringing you to despair, the blooming snowdrop flowers at Chelsea Physic Garden should bring some sunshine to the spring time in West London. This year the buds will be raised to eye level, allowing visitors to spy all the subtle complexities of the flower.
Pay a visit to this delightful hidden gem, the second oldest botanical garden in Britain, est. 1673, to see the spring snowdrops in full force and find some serenity away from the urban jungle. You’ll also spy late winter blooms such as wild primulas, miniature iris and delicate crocus peppering the garden. Guided tours from gardening experts, talks and workshops from snowdrop specialists make this a lovely day out for keen gardeners and families.
