Harvey Nichols unveils new jewellery department
Jewellery and accessories have a new home in the basement of the Harvey Nichols Knightsbridge store
Harvey Nichols has unveiled its brand new Accessories and Jewellery department just in time for Christmas. The new-look space marks the end of the ambitious redevelopment of the basement floor of the 18th century iconic Knightsbridge store.
Designed in partnership with Virglie+Partners, the department spans 750 square metres, more than enough to spy something in amongst one of the vintage glass cabinets with sculptural wooden counters. The design utilises luxurious materials and innovative design to create the feeling of a luxury boutique with marble flooring and concrete slabs. The overall effect is one which distinctly separates each area within the Ground Floor and which simultaneously offers a naturalistic flow between the departments.
A standout feature is the architectural wall constructed from marble, copper and soft pastel resin which exhibits a handbag edit from floor to ceiling in a contemporary yet timeless design while the bronze ceiling in the Jewellery space reflects the precious stones on display.
The cool and glamorous space will connect the accessory department with the jewellery edit, the sunglasses gallery and the Beauty Lounge. The space also boasts a five star Store Concierge Service and Handbag Clinic, and if you're feeling a little tired out, there's space to recline on one of the many plush velvet seats.
With all this glamour in the design, the space sounds more like an art exhibition than a retail space.
