Stories – The Tap Dance Sensation by the French RB Dance Company arrives in London laden with superlatives. Since its premiere in 2019 the production has won three awards, including the French equivalent to the Oliviers, and it's just ended an extensive sold out tour of France. London is one step in the company's first international tour.

Through an original and highly theatrical combination of jazz and tap, the show tells the story of Icarus, a successful young actor, who is kept in an artistic straightjacket by an authoritarian film director in a plot that was surely inspired by the 1947 Powell and Pressburger film, The Red Shoes.

Conceived and choreographed by company founder and director Romain Rachline Borgeaud, who also composed the pulsating original score, the show is brought to life by 10 dancers. Here's a taster:

Federica Mugnai's versatile set transports spectators to Icarus's world of hotels, film sets and gambling clubs in a fast moving show that depicts the struggle between Icarus and the film director.

RB Dance Company found fame when it became a finalist in the talent show France's Got Talent in 2018. Stories, created the folowing year, is its first full-length narrative show.
