The Gruffalo dance workshops
Learn to dance like the professionals with this Royal Academy of Dance Workshop inspired by Julia Donaldson's award-winning children's story
Quick step - and book your kids onto the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) children's workshop this weekend, inspired by the bestselling book The Gruffalo.
Following the success of the West End production of The Gruffalo: Live (which returns to London this July following Culture Whisper's four start review) RAD is encouraging children to discover the family favourite story through dance, music, acting, make-up and storytelling.
Each workshop is run like a day in the life of a real dancer: children begin by warming up, creating imaginative material (inspired in this instance by everyone's favourite monster in the deep, dark wood), practice, working on their make-up and preparation and culminating in a performance for the group and their parents.
There are three workshops available for different age groups -- spaces still around for children aged 4-8.
Parents accompanying younger learners will have the opportunity to get involved in the dance workshop and help their children bring the book to life.
The Gruffalo: plot
We suggest making the most of this opportunity to delve into the world of Julia Donaldson's story, of a small mouse who goes through a walk in the deep, dark woods and must use her cunning to outwit the danger she finds at every turn.
Suitable for ages 2-8
