Family Dance Week, The Place
Children take centre stage at Family Dance Week hosted by The Place this autumn half-term.
Variety, colour, acrobatics and audience participation are the keywords for this quirky London event.

In Family Dance Week three companies will provide entertainment for children of all ages and their grown-ups too! First off is Oily Cart’s The Bounce, a multi-sensory show by the British theatre group involving trampolines, video projections and live music that adapts to the specific requirements of each participant. It’s a highly interactive show and covers ages 3-19.
Interestingly, there will be two separate performances designed for young people defined as either having Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities or who are on the Autism Spectrum.
Then it’s the turn of Compagnie L’Insomnante. Its performance focuses on a sleepless night – hence the title L’insomnante, or The Insomniac – and uses a potent mixture of live music, illusion, puppetry and quirky object manipulaton to take the audience on a surreal night time journey.
Finally, in The Little Witch, for ages 4 and over, Marie Forbes and Sophie Nüzel provide an immersive dance experience and an opportunity to take a magical tour of unexpected spaces of The Place’s building to explore what it takes to be a Good Witch.
Half term is fast approaching and if you’re looking for an unusual event in London this autumn to entertain children of all ages, then this is the event for you.
