Schubert's songs, Wigmore Hall

A two-year project to perform all of Schubert's songs – that's more than 600 – continues at Wigmore Hall with 19 concerts, featuring distinguished singers including Ian Bostridge and Elizabeth Watts. The series opens on 13 Sept with tenor Mark Padmore and pianist James Baillieu performing songs both boisterous and thoughtful, including Der Winterabend, written in the last year of the composer's life. On 10 May, Bostridge, a renowned interpreter of Schubert, is joined by pianist Lars Vogt for the great cycle Schwanengesang, and the series concludes on 19 July with a recital by the Austrian mezzo-soprano Elisabeth Kulman and pianist Eduard Kutrowatz.
