The 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death continues to be marked in music as well as in word, and here both come together to illustrate the playwright's "seven ages of man", as characterised by Jacques in As You Like It. With the baritone Sir Thomas Allen and pianist Malcolm Martineau, some of the most exciting singers of the new generation, including the mezzo-soprano Kathryn Rudge and baritone Andrew Foster-Williams, sing songs of infancy, childhood, love, war, wisdom, age and oblivion. The concert also marks 20 years of Samling's promotion of rising artists. Raise a toast to the new stars and meet them over dinner with a gala package only from Samling: enquiries@samling.org.uk
