Think your kids will be bored stiff by classical music? Think again. The Saturday Spectacular Family Concert at Cadogan Hall is an action-packed adventure all the way to the moon. The Southbank Sinfonia, an orchestra of 32 of the world’s most promising and skilled young musicians, plays a mixture of inter-galactic themed and classical pieces to build an energetic narrative into the musical experience. The magical journey of a concert is presented by presented by animateur Rus Pearson, who specialises in bringing fresh jazz electronic influences to classical concerts.
The programme integrates classics such as Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony with innovative electronic pieces composed by Pearson. The fun starts way before the concert. Throughout the day children will have the chance to meet the musicians and get crafty making props to be used in the evening performance. This is an unmissable event for all the family and a fab way to inspire creativity and musical enthusiasm in children.
