Disney's Fantasia, The Royal Albert Hall

This wonderful family show, combining HD screenings from the well-loved Disney Fantasia films with live orchestral accompaniment
This wonderful family show, combining HD screenings from the well-loved Disney Fantasia films with live orchestral accompaniment, is bound to sell out quickly after its success last year. It’s an event for kids and adults alike; the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra will be performing the famous scores, while Mickey Mouse runs around on the big screen.
There will be selections from both the original 1940 film Fantasia and the more recent Fantasia 2000, including lots of classical favourites, such as Dukas’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice and Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker Suite. One of the most exciting pieces to look out for in this show is Ponchielli's Dance of the Hours (you may know it better as the one with the ballet-dancing hippos and ostriches), which has never before been screened and performed live simultaneously in the UK.
This should be a rather spectacular evening– after all, it’s not every day you get to hear world-class music while watching cartoons in the Royal Albert Hall.
