Rachmaninov for Two Pianos, Milton Court
London Piano Festival founders lead the way, performing three spectacular pieces by the Russia composer and pianist

Two brilliant pianists inspiring a new generation, Charles Owen and Katya Apekisheva, are professors of piano at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. They are also the brains – and hands – behind the London Piano Festival, which they launched in 2016.
The Festival returns from 5 to 8 October – look out for news on Culture Whisper, but in the meantime Charles and Katya perform together in three spectacular and demanding pieces by Rachmaninov, himself a piano virtuoso.
Rachmaninov's Suite No 1 and 2 for Two Pianos and the Symphonic Dances will be on a new disc of Rachmaninov piano duos which Charles and Katya are recording at Kings Place in August, and you can hear them live at this concert.
The programme promises to be packed with technical feats as well as bursting with the great melodies for which the composer had such a gift. Stalls seats are still available, for those who like to get close to the action. Just watch those fingers fly!
