Any performance by William Christie and Les Arts Florissants is an event, and this year the Proms strikes gold as the orchestra and choir bring their historically-informed interpretation of Bach’s Mass in B Minor - the towering achievement made at the end of the composer’s life.

They are joined by a stellar cast of soloists featuring Katherine Watson (soprano), Tim Mead (counter-tenor), Reinoud Van Mechelen (tenor) and André Morsch (baritone). Played straight through with no interval it promises to be a transcendent evening of great beauty and thoughtfulness.
