Baroque at the Edge comes back to London

Baroque at the Edge returns to London and promises to be a weekend filled with dazzling Baroque delights

Baroque at the Edge
Being a movement that’s approaching its 420th birthday, you might’ve thought that the Baroque period (1600 – 1750) in classical music has said what it needed to say many times over. But you’d be wrong. Now into their second year, Baroque at the Edge is riding back to London for a weekend of dazzling reinterpretations of Baroque pieces.

Taking place largely at the London Symphony Orchestra at St Luke’s on Old Street, there’s a smothering of incredible events and performances for any lover of classical music. It’s three musically charged days of piano improv, a talk on Johannes Sebastian Bach, a violinist’s fusion of modern and Baroque compositions, a family workshop on the art of folksinging, and a new play/concert by the Ceruleo theatre group who compose a story around the final hours of English composer Henry Purcell.

Baroque at the Edge will be a symphony of educational and entertaining delights, and it doesn’t cost a fortune to be a part of. Even if you’re not well versed in the Baroque period, this is an essential musical event to kick off 2019.
