2Cellos farewell, OVO Arena Wembley
The boys are back with their power-packed, sexy, unpredictable music – and it's the last chance to hear them as they hang up their touring boots
The electrifying playing of cellists Luka Šulić and HAUSER has blown any cobwebs off the classical repertoire and turned many young people into classical music nuts. Turns out there's more to the cello than we thought, and it's an untamed rock instrument too.
After their mould-smashing 2011 rendition of Smooth Criminal on YouTube, the duo, under the name 2CELLOS, went on to release six albums and perform at top venues all over the world, selling one million tickets.
But now, after 10 years on the road, Šulić and HAUSER are bidding farewell to the circuit – although not packing away their instruments for good, of course. And you can catch this phenomenal act one more time, at the OVO Wembley Arena on 2 and 3 June.
'This tour is the culmination of everything we have achieved as the 2CELLOS,' the wild boys promise. 'These will be our biggest shows, playing to some of the biggest audiences. We have climbed the mountain together and we have reached the peak of what we can do together.
'We'll put everything we have learnt from playing together into these dates. They will be intense, they will rock, they will be touching, they will be emotional. We are going to throw everything at them – and then we can rest the 2Cellos. Are you ready to celebrate with us?!'
If you like your music with added pizzazz, that's an offer you can't turn down. You're as likely to hear Michael Jackson or Elton John arrangements as string virtuoso Paganini. Suits us....
