Free Solo

On Sunday 24 February 2019, Free Solo won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. The National Geographic film follows Alex Holland, a free solo climber who scaled El Capitan in Yosemite Park with no ropes.


You know how the film is going to end, but Free Solo comes alarmingly close to Honnold's process, giving a rounded understanding of the athlete as a person.
