Bowie Remastered: The Man Who Fell To Earth

Have a fresh look at David Bowie, space oddity, as the Starman's alien film is re-released in cinemas

Bowie Remastered: The Man Who Fell To Earth
David Bowie’s turn as The Man Who Fell To Earth is considered one of his greatest performances.

Now the film has been newly restored in 4K (basically very, very high-definition) and returned to cinemas, so you can see the late musician and actor in all his strange, spangly glory. As an added bonus, a couple of the screenings are being introduced by special guests: the film's costume designer at Curzon Soho and the director Danny Boyle at the Hackney Picturehouse.

Nicolas Roeg’s cult classic The Man Who Fell To Earth sees the Starman’s turn as a spooky swooshily-coiffured alien, and is said to have been the role which marked the birth of Bowie’s Thin White Duke persona. His character comes to earth in search of water for his drought-stricken home planet and, technologically advanced, he excels at business, but soon finds himself caught up with human life and corporate greed.

Marking the 40th anniversary of the film’s release, and poignantly arriving back on our screens some months after Bowie’s death, these screenings are an opportunity to re-visit the film in stunningly high quality.
