Havana Moon, Rolling Stones immersive concert screening
The historic 2016 Rolling Stones concert amazed fans in Cuba – and it's now coming to Kentish Town with electrifying immersion
While the historic influence of the Rolling Stones could never be limited to just one place, some gigs earn a more incandescent memory than others. The 2016 concert in Havana, Cuba left an indelible impact on frontman Mick Jagger who said, 'It was a wonderful experience for all of us. Sharing the stage with the ‘revolutionary’ Ronnie Wood, Charlie ‘Che’ Watts and ’compadre’ Keith Richards was one very special night.'
Didn't make the trip over for the night? Neither did we. Luckily, courtesy of Rebel Vision and Flying Entertainment, the experience is being resurrected with kaleidoscopic detail and ambitious technology this winter, over an 11-night national tour (culminating in a homecoming performance at London's Kentish Town Forum) to put on a homecoming performance of the show in an immersive gig-cum-screening experience.
The hype of half a million fans will speak loud, as spectacular set design, ultra HD video projection and state-of-the-art soundsystems will recapture the atmosphere of the astonishing 116-minute set, which sampled 50 years of the Stones' incomparable career.
The experience will be brought to life with in-house Cuban dancers and actors to enhance the backdrop, blending the most invigorating elements of theatre, music and film screening into focus.
Tom Clark, founder of Rebel Vision, explains the appeal: 'Whatever people are into, many often say "I wish I'd gone to 'that' concert. We're giving people the opportunity to see these historic moments again'. From the familiar haunts of London Town, celebrate the band that influenced the face of rock music with a performance that pushes the boundaries of visual and sonic entertainment across the board.
