Winter Night Garden, Backyard Cinema
Immersive cinema experts Backyard Cinema return with the Winter Night Garden experience: an enchanted forest, hit movies, cocktails and street food
With the days getting shorter and a crisp breeze beginning to bite through the air, the time for cosying up with a good film in an enchanting venue has never been better. Immersive cinema extraordinaires Backyard Cinema are making a post-quarantine comeback with the Winter Night Garden, bringing the best of pop-up cinema to their permanent home of Capital Studios for your viewing pleasure.
The blockbuster-heavy line-up caters for all tastes, with screenings of cult classics (Dirty Dancing, Grease, Pretty Woman); musical masterpieces (Pitch Perfect, The Greatest Showman, Bohemian Rhapsody); and recent, critically-acclaimed hits (Parasite, JoJo Rabbit, Queen & Slim). There's a ream of animated movies to keep little ones entertained, and perhaps most excitingly of all, Christoper Nolan's eagerly-anticipated Tenet completes the line-up.
The immersive screening connoisseurs managed to sneak in an inaugural run of the new experience back in February, only a month before the world went into lockdown. Now, the team are dab hands at running the event, which sees audiences enter through a Narnia-esque wardrobe and wander through a forest twinkling with fairylights before taking their seats in the auditorium.
Hunker down on Backyard's beloved giant bean bags and refuel at the all-day bar, where there's cocktails on tap, craft beers and delicious street food (Honest Burgers have been known to make a regular appearance).
Pop-up cinema doesn't just have to be a summer love affair – discover the magic of the Winter Night Garden for yourself.
Note that doors open well ahead of the film and you will need to be at the venue 30 minutes before the film starts.
