Interview: Dr Paul Nassif, the super-surgeon and star of the Botched TV show launches his first clinic in the UK
Dr Paul Nassif, the surgeon and star of the Botched show, is in the UK. He talks to Culture Whisper about his new clinic, skin and treatment trends
Culture Whisper: 'Tell us about the new Nassif Medspa clinic in Manchester…'
Dr Paul Nassif: 'We wanted to take what we learned from Beverly Hills and bring it to Manchester. There can be a lack of regulation here, sometimes complications with fillers and injectables, and we wanted to find the best injectors and aestheticians in the business and showcase them in a modern medi-spa space. Plus, we are offering the latest high-tech facials, like HydraFacial, alongside Halo laser and chemical peels. You could call it a one-stop beauty shop.'
CW: 'How do American and British clients differ?'
Dr PN: 'I think the main difference is the British are much more conservative with their aesthetic and also they are much more realistic too.'
CW: 'What treatment trends are you seeing for 2019 and beyond?'
Dr PN: 'We’re using the knife less and less, and you can achieve amazing results from laser, injectables and the right skincare regime.'
CW: 'Talking of skincare, you’re launching your range of NassifMD Dermaceuticals products at the clinic – what makes your skincare different from other ranges?'
Dr PN: 'There are some great products out there – there’s great skincare wherever you look. However, as a facial plastic surgeon, I’ve seen the skin from the inside out and I know what works at deeper layers.
'At NassifMD Dermaceuticals we have a targeted approach to help clients achieve what they want from our regime, all based on the efficacious ingredients and hard-working formulas. Think of it as the dream team with a combination of exfoliation, moisturisation and antioxidants.
'All products contain active ingredient complexes that target the main causes of ageing while hydrating the skin and boosting collagen levels, thereby reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Additionally, the range protects from free radicals, oxidation, inflammation and environmental stressors — all of which help prevent premature ageing, as well as helping overall skin health for women and men of all ages.'
CW: 'What’s the next big thing for skin?'
Dr PN: 'There are lots of exciting things in store. Cell harvesting, nano-fat injectables for facial rejuvenation, new lasers… Watch this space!'
