London Design Festival 2015: Somerset House

Somerset House showcases the rising stars of the design world and radical installations for LDF 2015

Somerset House has a number of exciting exhibitions and projects happening during the Design Festival to feel giddy over, the 10 Designers installation the jewel in the crown. There's also the chance to get up close and personal with the winners of the British Land Celebration of Design Awards 2015.
10 Designers in the West Wing
Step inside the West Wing and you'll find 10 major international designers on display, including Nendo and Ross Lovegrove. New works from these big hitters cement Somerset House's position as one of the central hubs of the London Design Festival. Each designer has created a room installation, from Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby's Reading Room filled with Knoll furniture to the swell of a crystal blue wave made of anodized aluminium by Alex Rasmussen.
We are particularly excited to see Faye Toogood's derelict countryside getaway in The Drawing Room. Look out also for Istanbul-based Tabanlioğlu Architects' curious installation with industrial artist Arik Levy, Transition; Warm/Wet where light and heat are not what they seem. A low ceiling of LED strips floating above a reflective surface creates the 'warm' room, while sparse light over a solid pool of shifting water droplets feels like a 'wet' cooler sensation.
With plenty to get your teeth into, Somerset House is one of our favourite spots over the festival.
