Pete Doherty, Carl Barât, John Hassal and Gary Powell are touring the UK this Autumn as part of the extended revival tour. The band broke up in 2004 after seven whirlwind years of success, before reuniting for a brief time in 2010 and coming back together for a new record deal and subsequent lease of life since 2014.
This November, the gang is coming back together. Why does it matter? There's a pretty high chance you've heard 'Don't Look Back Into the Sun' or 'Can't Stand Me Now' in one of many, many films or TV shows, and to see songs that have formed part of our national cultural fabric never loses its appeal.
With the raw charisma of a Blur and the uninhibited energy of a Sex Pistols or the Clash, The Libertines firmly carved their own path on the road to permanent cult status.
Whether it's to revisit early teenage memories or to discover a crucial part of musical history that continues to influence up and coming artists today – it's always worth spending an evening with the Libertines. Tickets for the two London dates of the upcoming tour are on sale now.
