The stop-motion animated musical has enchanted audiences for years, both for the fascinatingly original mind of auteur Tim Burton and the emblematic, magical score from Danny Elfman. The film retells the story of Jack Skellington the King of 'Halloween Town', and his journey to the exotic land of 'Christmas Town'.
Jack is an emblematic Burton hero – an outsider seeing the world through a different lens. The filmmaker regularly collaborates with Elfman, but here the composer's strengths are further nurtured as he writes songs as well as music, and provides Jack's singing voice too.
The 1993 animation still holds up beautifully – making this a dazzling big-screen experience. To have a composer whose name can make headlines on its own justifies the brilliance of the soundtrack, and thus a live concert experience has never felt like a better present than when Danny Elfman is involved.
If you enjoyed Edwards Scissorhands and fancy an evening out with a more fantastical edge – book now for an evening with Tim Burton and Danny Elfman at the SSE Arena, to ring in the festive season in the loudest way possible.
