Never one to do things by the book, designer Jonathan Anderson is opening a flagship store in Shoreditch with a difference.
Inside the brightly coloured rainbow walls of the 250 square foot store, the J.W. Anderson Workshop will feature an ever-changing series of installations by different creatives: from ceramicists to musicians and photographers to writers.
With a fresh artist spotlighted each month, expect regular exhibitions, installations, events and limited edition products.
Although best known for his macabre, otherworldly collections, Anderson considers himself an instinctive collector and curator of the physical world around him. He spent his childhood compulsively re-organising his parents' wardrobe and last year, he exhibited his resort collection in Kettle's Yard, Cambridge, a 20th century art show-room.
We're expecting the workshop to feel like a personalised photo-album, a walk-in collage of Anderson's favourite things.
“I feel like a store should be like your house," said Anderson in an interview with BoF. We have a hunch that Anderson's home will be more exciting than our own, and we can't wait to see what he's got planned for it.
