Ciné Lumière: Jacques Audiard Retrospective

For French film director and screenwriter, Jacques Audiard, winning the 68th Palme d’Or at Cannes last year for Dheepan was the icing on top of impeccable track record.
Now, ahead of Dheepan's UK release, the Ciné Lumière are offering Londoners a chance to follow the path drawn by Audiard with a complete retrospective of the director's filmography.
The retrospective will guide its viewers through Audiard's career, starting in the 90’s with See How They Fall (1994). With lauded performances from Jean-Louis Trintignant and Mathieu Kassovitz, the film won the César for Best First Feature Film – a promising debut for a filmmaker who subsequently received the highest number of César awards on record.
This screening will be followed by the satirical Self-Made Hero (1996 Cannes Best Screenplay) and the series continues with Read My Lips, which won Emmanuelle Devos the Best Actress César in 2002.
Finally, a series of internationally lauded films for which Audiard garnered awards for directing, screenplay and acting alike will be shown, including The Beat That My Heart Skipped (2005), A Prophet (2009) and Rust and Bone (2012).
Praised as an auteur of contemporary filmmaking, the Ciné Lumière's comprehensive season is the perfect way to explore Audiard's work before the UK release of his latest creation, Dheepan.
