A film and comic-book obsessed child, Tarantino devoured cinema of all kinds when working at the Manhattan Beach Video Archives. A passion for Hollywood genres and pop-culture manifested into a full-force career, which has seen him grow into one of the most influential directors of the century. Neo-noir pop culture masterpieces, scenes of aesthetically composed violence and a dark satirical subject matter are just a small few of Tarantino's most defining features.
Tarantino's first foray into film with Reservoir Dogs (1922) announced his arrival with a bang. A mad compilation of gunshots, gangsters and razor sharp dialogue, it is now hailed as one of the most important independent films of all time. Pulp Fiction (1994), the glamorous gangster movie with a clever circular narrative structure followed, a thrill-ride riddled with femmes fatales, fatal romance and fearsome fighting.
Booking for the season opens 8 December.
