Artist to watch Prem Sahib gets his first solo exhibition in London this autumn with brand new works scattered across the ICA. Sahib is a fascinating character with an impressive array of shows behind him at David Roberts Foundation, David Zwirner and Southard Reid, and collaborations with thrilling artists like his RA Schools classmate, Eddie Peake.
Prem Sahib art & style
We love Sahib for his radical interest in meeting places, specifically for the gay community in major cities like London or Berlin; from clubs and cruising locations to the internet. He's also wildly experimental and even hosts DJ and performance nights in east London and across towns in Europe.
What can we expect?
This ICA exhibition is sure to be filled with hugely varied work, including sculpture, paintings and performance, that tackle human interaction and the sensual touch of the body without ever being directly figurative. There's always a touch of the autobiographical to Sahib's deeply intimate creations which gravitate towards sexuality, relationships and desire.
Explore the ICA London this autumn and encounter what Prem Sahim has placed behind closed doors or hidden in plain sight.
