With winter finally settling in, why not treat yourself to some comfort food and a taste of the cold Scottish Highlands. Tucked away in London Bridge is Dram & Smoke’s latest Scottish pop up.
If the name sounds familiar, it’s because they've had a number incredibly successful—sell-out in fact—runs in the past year, with feasts of Scottish fayre fit for a king in Vauxhall and Shepherd's Bush.
The principle is the same as ever—great food, well-sourced ingredients, cleverly matched drinks and large tables loaded with dishes perfect for sharing.
Guests will receive five courses including starters of Duck Donuts with Irn Bru Chilli Jam (doesn't get more Scottish than that). Next up there's Smoked Mushroom, Dunsyre Blue and Pickles, followed by an enticing Lobster Broth. For the main course, what Dram and Smoke do best, there'll be a Roast Rack of Pork with Black Pudding & Chargrilled Plums. And to finish, enjoy a dessert of Whisky Bread & Butter Pudding with Malted Milk Custard.
In addition to all the quality drinks on offer there will be a number of 'house party' games for guests to join in on, including the all time classic – beer pong. They've also got some acoustic music nights lined up, to keep diners sufficiently entertained while they digest.
What better way to get spend a summer evening that chatting to your fellow diners, whilst sipping on whiskey and ale? At £40 a head, (including a welcome cocktail and five courses), it's certainly tempting to book out a whole table. Perfect end-of-the-week antics: Wednesday is the new Thursday, after all.
