Style icon and "it" girl Alexa Chung chats to arbiter of fashion, Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman.
In her varied career as model, T.V personality, columnist and now author, Alexa Chung has inspired a generation of fashionistas. She describes her distinctive aesthetic as a fusion of little girl and old lady -- think ankle socks, satchels and misshapen cardigans. To celebrate the paperback launch of her book, It, Chung will share the inspirations and influences of her style with Vogue editor-in-chief Alexandra Shulman.
The candy floss lightness of Chung's pastel pink covered book, which comprises pictures a-plenty, lots of lists and pearls of wisdom ("Look in a mirror after you get dressed in the morning"), inspired somewhat scathing reviews. But, while pithy prose may not be Chung's strong point, the visual, mood board style of the book reflects her eclectic and influential tastes. It will be fascinating to hear her in discussion with the ever eloquent Shulman. We hope that along with the sweetness and light, the Vogue editor will also delve into the darker side of Alexa's relationship with the fashion industry (her slender frame regularly provokes vitriolic abuse and accusations of eating disorders).
